Gothic Furniture

Gothic Furniture (1830-1890)
Gothic Furniture took on the same embellishments as the dominant structures of the 17 th and 18 th Centuries. The magnificent cathedrals, with their tapering spirals reaching toward the heavens, their pointed arches, quatrefoils and trefoils, finials, flying buttresses and cluster columns. The Church and Nobility commissioned the furniture of the era; it was not made for the common man and woman.
